People are choosing to go sober in October to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity wants to encourage social drinkers to change their habits for the month of October and to make some healthier lifestyle choices.
The aim is to raise money for the charity that supports people with cancer, as well as not drinking alcohol having its own benefits for yourself.
Macmillan points out that going sober can give you a clearer head, more energy, better sleep, a sense of achievement and weight loss.
With 26,961 people participating in Sober October, £392,682 has currently been raised for the charity.
If you are participating in this year’s Sober October, there are plenty of places in Liverpool you can enjoy alcohol- free.
‘Breakout Liverpool’ is a fun and interactive day out where you and friends try to breakout of a room with only clues to help you solve the mystery to break free.
Roxy Ballroom has a variety of games for you to pay with friends including bowling, shuffleboard, mini basketball and plenty of others, also including good food and music and a great entertainment vibe.
The River of Light is coming back to Liverpool on October 25, which is a great immersive experience to go and visit with friends.
Liverpool also has a variety of museums and galleries that would be a good day out either solo or with your family and friends.
There is also the World and Maritime Museum, and the Museum of Liverpool, along with the Walker and the Tate Gallery.
