Liverpool woman makes the Forbes 30 under 30 list 2024
Olivia Hanlon, the founder and CEO of her female-focused startup, Girls in Marketing, has been named in the prestigious Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2024.
Olivia founded Girls in Marketing in 2019 to empower women in the marketing sector and has seen more than 300,000 followers across her social media.
This marks a significant milestone in the 25-year-olds career.
Since it was founded in 2019, the platform has grown, offering accessible content and resources tailored towards marketers eager to advance their skills.
She said: “I wanted to find more people that were like me, really passionate about marketing, really eager to learn and I also wanted to showcase how accessible marketing was.”
“It has been a journey, but we are now a learning provider and a community for marketers, so we see ourselves as the next step after education and we are an external to the workplace.”
She said: “When the email first came through at the end of January, I was really excited to be a potential for the Forbes 30 under 30 list”.
“For me it’s less about the status of it and more about the credibility it adds to what we’re doing with Girls in Marketing because I think it’s something that is widely recognised”.
Her influence extends far beyond her entrepreneurial skills, with her being a public speaker, a mentor and having her own podcast.
Her podcast, The Girls in Marketing Podcast, offers a close and personal insight into marketing with interviews with some of the best in the business.
This podcast consistently ranks at the top of the marketing podcast charts in the UK and is one of the many reasons as to why Forbes have recognised her in this list.
With years of experience in digital marketing, Olivia is recognised for her expertise, having trained over 12,000 marketers.
This remarkable achievement is well deserved for the Liverpool born entrepreneur and showcases the success of female entrepreneurs in Liverpool and worldwide.
Olivia’s words of advice to future female marketers would be to go after opportunities and to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
