Liverpool City Council have introduced their second wave of enforcement cameras to crack down on the number of traffic-related offences.
The new cameras have number plate recognition software installed to issue warnings to first-time offenders and £70 fines to repeat offenders.
This allows local authorities to allocate penalties for poor driving habits under part 6 of the Traffic Management Act (2004).
Some of the new locations are as follows:
- St Anne Street
- Arlington Avenue/Greenbank Road
- Arlington Avenue/Nicander Road
- Watergate Way at Priorsfield Way
Councillor Dan Barrington, cabinet member for Environmental Change said: “Road safety is of paramount importance to the council.
“These new powers to enforce moving traffic contraventions are a key part of a wider programme to improve road safety across the city.”
