Wirral Council are supporting local charity Sahir House, Sexual Health Wirral and other local groups in an effort to encourage individuals to test for sexual transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV.
This week is National HIV testing week, a campaign aimed at promoting regular testing in the UK.
Its focus is on groups more likely to suffer from HIV, including bisexual, gay and other groups of men at risk of catching the infection.
The Wirral council-funded Wirral Intelligence Service also state that heterosexuals within the Black African community are also potentially at risk.
Merseysiders can order a free home testing kit at SH:24.org.uk.
Regular testing helps lessen the risk of those living undiagnosed spreading this life changing disease.
