The Liverpool City Region Pride Foundation is launching a community fund of £15,000 for local LGBT+ organisations, groups and peoples as part of a new partnership with long-standing supporter Barclays which will last for three years.
Two other programmes are also being introduced to support LGBT+ people within enterprise and in the workplace.
Established in 2019, Barclays has been a supporter of the LCR foundation since its inception. Barclays also offered support for the foundation through the Coronavirus pandemic, where funds were used to support grass-roots organisations their work in such challenging times.
Ann O’Donoghue, Group Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Barclays, said: “Our work with LCR Pride Foundation has demonstrated the real benefit that investing in grass-roots and community initiatives can bring. This partnership is one of the many ways that we strengthen our diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.”
In addition to supporting the LCR Pride Foundation with their year-round regional charity work, there will also be three main focuses – to offer and support a Proud Workplaces Programme featuring keynote speakers and presentations discussing issues surround LGBT+ issues in the workplace, the Enterprise Programme which will support LGBT+ people to be enterprising, and the Community Fund, offering up to £15,000 a year for grass-roots organisations.
Applications for the Community Fund, to promote community-driven projects and ideas, are now open and will close on Wednesday, March 6.
