Sefton Council have announced they are opening a series of ‘warm spaces’ across the borough this winter.
Forecasts show this winter to be a winter like no other for the wrong reasons. Soaring energy bills and the ever-persistent issue of loneliness during the season of coming together is causing a real concern for those who live in Sefton.
A small incentive such as this will make a big difference in the community. helping spread the message of the true meaning of Christmas.
The warm spaces scheme will be turning libraries and community centres into what are essentially hubs for people to gather and be in the company of others while not leaving out the less sociable, as the spaces will doubly act as a calm environment for activities including reading and knitting amongst others.
All venues will be heated, adding even more festive warmth with particular spaces being referred to as ‘Enhanced’. What enhances these places is the offer of hot drinks, food and of course wi-fi which is a nice touch for those not able to afford internet bills.
