A woman has died in hospital four days after being hit by a car on Brownlow Hill.
The woman, who is yet to be named, was hit by a red Vauxhall just before 3pm on Sunday. She was subsequently airlifted to Aintree hospital.
The 60-year-old pedestrian died in hospital on Tuesday.
A 31-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man from Liverpool were arrested on the scene under suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
They have since been released under investigation.
Enquiries are ongoing in the area.
